24/7 recording and motion events

There's a good chance this has already been asked, but I recently changed how I capture video and my cameras are now armed/recording 24/7. This means when I go to the "captures" tab on my iPhone app, I see one hour of video at a time, as I chose to break them up hourly. Is there a way I can break down the captures my motion while still recording 24/7?

Thank you

  • When recording Continuous Capture files, what you can do is to enable the "Movie search metadata" options under Settings > Cameras > Triggers for this camera. All motion events are then recorded to the continuous files, and you will be able to search for events using the Browser feature in the macOS interface of SecuritySpy. Unfortunately, this functionality does not exist in the iOS app (at least, not yet). A solution would be to enable Motion Capture recording in addition to Continuous Capture. This won't add too much to the storage requirements, and would allow you to view events like normal in the iOS app by filtering for Motion Capture files.

Hey Ben. We've talked about this before but is having the browser ability on an iOS or on a client Mac on the roadmap.

The latter is very useful at least for the people that I know because the Mac recording the files is often either tucked away in a cabinet or just one of the Macs owned in the family. I know the internet browser allows access but the SS browser is great and under utilised because of this.
