Lapses in email notifications
The camera at my front door is configured to record 24x7 but it's also configured to send me email whenever motion is detected. Those both work very well (in fact I get many false positives whenever a car drives by with headlights on) but recently I've started to notice instances where I get no email when there was clearly motion in the view of the camera.
Today I left the house through the door right next to that camera and there were no email notifications, but I can see on the continuous recording that the camera was functioning normally. Have there been interruptions in service for the SMTP service recently? How can I troubleshoot this problem?

There have been no recent interruptions to our email relay service, which is what SecuritySpy uses by default to send emails. Are you using this, or have you configured SecuritySpy to instead use an SMTP server? Here are some possible reasons to explain what you are seeing:
- Check the schedule that Actions ("A") mode for this camera is set to. If you want email alerts at all times, this should be set to the "Armed 24/7" schedule.
- Check that the trigger settings for Actions are configured correctly, under Settings > Cameras > Triggers.
- Check the log file (File menu > Open Log) for any error messages related to sending emails. For example, our relay service has a rate limit to prevent excessive use. If you are hitting this limit, you will see a message in the log to this effect.
- The receiving email account could be classifying these messages as spam. Check spam/junk folders and if you can, whitelist the address noreply@bensoftware.com (which is the "From" address of these emails).
