How to set up Hikvision NVR with 4 cameras

Hi,

To much trouble with iVMS-4200 Mac, cameras and NVR.

How do I connect my Hikvision NVR DS-7604NI to SecuritySpy so it works 24/7 with the storage, with my 4 cameras? Is there any manual here? On local network.

    Hi Magnus,

    The Hikvision NVR should be automatically detected by SecuritySpy and available to select from the "Auto-Discovered Devices" button under Settings > Cameras > Device. Do you see it there? Selecting the device in this list will automatically fill out the "Address" field in the network device setup.

    Assuming the NVR has been audio discovered in this way, create four network devices in SecuritySpy, and for each one, select the Hikvision device from the list, enter the NVR's username/password, and choose a different "Input or stream number" (1 for the first camera, 2 for the second and so on). Set the Profile setting to Hikvision.

    Does this work to pull in the four video streams from your device? If so, then it's a simple case of setting up recording for each camera, as described in the user manual under Recording and Schedules.

    Note that SecuritySpy will make its own recordings - ideally this should be a dedicated drive connected to your Mac by USB or Thunderbolt. But, the Mac's internal drive can also be used. SecuritySpy cannot access the NVR's own storage.
