AppleTV “hide in multiplex” option
Hi, has the hide in multiplex option moved in the latest version? I also get PTZ controls on all cameras (even non-ptz) on a long press, which I think is where hide in multiplex used to be - if relevant, it is my PTZ camera I want to hide. Thanks.

This is now achieved using groups. You can set up groups of cameras in SecuritySpy on your Mac under Preferences > Display. Then, on the Apple TV, you can filter by group. You will then only see the set of cameras that are members of the group that you choose, across all three sections (cameras, multiplex, captures).

IMO quite a lot worse and less flexible than the old "hide in multiplex" – i have 2 systems with 14 cameras in total across 2 locations, neither of the macs have physical screens attached, and i now have to go and find a computer and screen share to configure groups to stop the incessant screen jumping when the number of cameras doesn't match the layout. Depending on time of day, where PTZ cameras are pointing and various other factors the cameras I want to monitor changes.

I understand that configuration is more difficult without physical access to the Macs and/or if they are headless. SecuritySpy does have a Screen Control feature though via its web interface that works with any desktop web browser, so this may help. Also, we'll see if we can add group configuration via the available web server settings in a future update - this will provide another configuration option for groups that will be easy to set from any web browser.
In terms of the user experience in the app itself, I think it's actually more flexible, as you can easily switch between groups to view different sets of cameras. Previously, if you wanted to change the set of cameras shown in multiplex, you would have to long-tap on each one in turn to set the "Hide in multiplex" option. With the new scheme, it's a couple of taps to change the group filter to show a different set of cameras.
In terms of the "screen jumping", this happens if the number of cameras to display is more than the multiplex group size. You can prevent this from happening in the app either by choosing a multiplex group size that is larger than the number of cameras that will be displayed, or by setting the cycle time to infinity.
I understand that changes like this aren't always going to be liked by all customers, but I hope that once you have managed to configure groups on the server, you will find it easy to achieve what you want in terms of the multiplex viewing experience in the app.
