YCX 5MP PTZ POE camera works almost flawlessly in SS
I picked up a M695IRC-5X 5MP PTZ POE camera with spotlight from the Chinese manufacturer, YCX (who apparently have a good reputation as owner of some IP which they licence to Hikvision and others and also as manufacturer and supplier of some parts to Hikvision and others).
Now bench testing, the camera looks very good for its price and I was pleased to discover that it works almost perfectly in SS, using the ONVIF profile.
The one issue I'm seeing is that the PTZ presets don't save if I quit SS and relaunch. Is that normal behaviour?
I was also testing in iVMS-4200 which does seem able to save the presets but is there scope for confusion if I am setting some presets in one VMS and others in a different VMS? Will SS inherit presets set in iVMS-4200?

Scratch that. I downloaded the latest beta of SS and the presets work perfectly. Thank you Ben. You probably fixed this a while ago but I've been running 5.01 and didn't have any reason to update until now.

Great to hear that everything works well in the latest version of SecuritySpy! Looks like a nice camera.

FWIW, I have documented my trials and tribulations getting this camera to run under Mac OS - and SecuritySpy fares well of course.

This is a very nice video review! And I'm glad that SecuritySpy has worked so well for you. Many thanks.

Glad you liked it. Today's update is that rebooting the camera finally gives me access to the SD card recordings in Safari - but only for a few minutes and then the [false] alert about having too many players returns and I have to reboot again. Firmware bug for sure. And of course the video files downloaded from the SD card are not QT compatible. Thanks goodness for SS.
