DCS-2330L is connected, but showing old 'live' footage

This has only started happening in the last couple of months, after a long period of successful constant connection.

All my (3) cameras are D-Link. One via Ethernet, and two via WiFi. All connect through Apple Airport. One of the Airports is in Bridged Mode. WiFi signals are strong.

Using Security Spy 4.1.10.

One of the cameras (DCS-2330L), is showing a live stream camera when logging in through the camera portal and through a local ip address in the browser.

But the Security Spy application is showing an old live stream image (frozen time stamp) from a few hours ago in the Show All Cameras window.

The recorded image is showing the frozen image.

A re-boot of the camera fixes it.

  • If the camera at any point stops sending video, SecuritySpy will detect this and report a "timeout" error (and will then close the camera and repeatedly attempt to reconnect). If you aren't seeing any timeout error reported, then the only explanation is that the camera is sending the same frame over and over again. The fact that rebooting the camera resolves the problem further indicates that the problem lies with the camera.

The first thing to try is to reset the camera to factory default settings and set it up again. If that doesn't work, check for a firmware update from D-Link and install it onto the camera if available. If that doesn't work, then I suggest you replace the camera (use our list of compatible cameras to find one suitable for your needs).
