I'm going to set up a VPN on several computers in my office. I do have a dedicated mac mini running Security Spy. Will setting up a VPN affect the computer running Security Spy, even if I do not install a VPN on the mac mini? Is it wise to install a VPN on the Security Spy computer as well?

  • As long as SecuritySpy has a connection to the IP cameras over your local network (ideally over a wired ethernet network), then additionally setting up a VPN for whatever other purpose shouldn't affect SecuritySpy.
  • No the VPN will not affect the operations of Security SPy , it can be used together with the VPN. You can use this really cool feature called Split Tunneling on your Security SPy PC. You can run only the programs you want through VPN and security Spy will keep working through your IP you can check out the feature it is available with only a handful of services. I used one available with purevpn when testing the service with my Google Chromecast, worked perfectly but ensure you have a bitching fast internet connection.
