Upgrade from 3x to 4.0.6 no longer record to local drive
Last night I updated SecruitySpy from 3.4 to 4.0.6 and immediately noticed how much snapper it is on both the desktop (MacMini running Indigo) and via Remote Patrol iOS application. The only thing that I have yet to get working is recording video to the hard drive of the MacMini running SS.
Last month my cameras led to the arrest of two burgles that have been plaguing our neighborhood for a very long time. They estimate that they have hit from 50-60 homes. While comforting I would really like to get this up and running again. I have it set up working with the SecuritySpy plug-in for Indigo. I'm getting the emailed image but recording does not seem to get triggered, resulting in no footage on my drive. Any tips?

Great to hear SecuritySpy has been so useful to you.
Please read our guide for existing users upgrading to version 4, as it describes some changes. In particular have a look at the section "Terminology Changes for Recording Modes". Instead of the old active/passive mode, you can now "arm" or "disarm" continuous-capture, motion-capture and actions individually.
So, for motion recording, make sure motion-capture is armed (you'll need a grey or red "M" next to the camera in the Camera Info window). Then, whenever motion is detected it will record (provided you have enabled some of the recording options in the Preferences -> Cameras -> Motion Capture section).
If you are still having problems, please email us screenshots of all the settings for the camera in question, and the Camera Info window, and we'll take a look. -
I guess I should have specified, I've always used Indigo to detect motion using Insteon motion detectors rather then the cameras or SS motion detection. This was working quite well before the update of SS. Is there a setting in Security Spy that needs activation to work with the Security Spy plug-in in Indigo? Perhaps that forum is best?

Same/similar problem here. Can't get 4.0.6 to record continuously.

I seem to have got things working again. I made so many adjustments I'm not sure what exactly did it. It may have been the SS server address in Indigo that worked in the last version that didn't in this latest version. I changed it to the xxxx.local address and that seemed to get things rolling.

Glad you got yours working!
I'm in the same boat still but I just reverted back to 3.x, which is working fine. I emailed support a couple weeks ago... and crickets. -
Hi again Ben - I've just sent you an email. There is a new beta version of SecuritySpy that will hopefully fix this issue. Please let me know.
