Browser not showing mov files anymore, m4v files are fine
I just noticed something strange with version 4.0.5
Two of my cameras are not displaying video in the browser.
I noticed that these 2 cameras output mov files to the finder (SecuritySpy does not recompress my streams). All my other cameras create m4v files.
The m4v files work fine inside the browser.
The mov files don't display any video at all.
The mov files work fine in finder.
I have already tried to recompress the streams, but the behaviour stays the same.
Now, I am absolutly certain that in a previous version (4.xx) these mov files worked just fine in the browser.
I have not changed anything recently in my cameras, nor on the Mac, so I'm wondering if something has been changed in a recent version of SecuritySpy ?
Also, while I'm at it, might I request a small feature in the browser : the ability to sort the files so that the most recent files are listed at the top, and not at the bottom.

Thanks for letting us know about this. There's no particular reason why this Browser won't display .mov files - what do you see instead of the video? Do you see just a grey screen, or the "no video" message, or something else?
We are planning to allow re-ordering the file list in a near-future update. -
It is just a grey screen, no text.

Same thing, except two cameras show .mov files, and one just shows grey screen in the browser, but fine when viewed with Quicktime Player.

Please try the latest SecuritySpy update (currently 4.0.6) as it will hopefully resolve this problem.

Hi Ben, version 4.0.6 has solved it !
Many thanks. -
Great to hear that.
