E-mail Alerts/JPEG Attachements not working..
v 4.0.3 - Have 6 cameras, motion alerts seem to fire (camera views pop up on the console) but email alerts are not sent with the exception of 1 camera. E-Mail Test is successful, and I have meticulously verified that the settings are identical for motion detection and actions for all cmeras. Camera's are all ONVIF compatible, Amcrest & an off brand. All was fine prior to the upgrade to 4.0.3 from 3.x.

Upgraded to the latest beta, still having email problems. Log file now indicates an e-mail problem. 2 cameras seem to alert now, but the other 4 still don't seem to even trigger the e-mail process when motion is detected. Log entry for e-mail error below.

I went back to using 3.4.10 and email is working again.

Me too, I have gone back to 3.4.10 - all is good again.

Hi @jfarkas - that error indicates a problem communicating with the email server itself, so in that situation I would expect you to see a lack of emails (or fewer than there should be), but not emails with no images. Are you seeing emails with no images being sent? If so, please could you try the latest beta version of SecuritySpy and let me know if this fixes the problem or not. Thanks.

Hello everyone. I finally had some free time to do some testing and seem to have found the source of the problem (for me at least). It wasn't until someone mentioned that image sizes were smaller at night that I put two and two together. Maybe, with the combination of the new default of four shots and a compression size set to high, it's too much for SS (or Gmail) to handle. I can't imagine the file sizes being ~5MB each though, so I'm still leaning toward a bug here. I lowered my compression quality to 35 and walked outside in front of my cameras...voila, messages started coming through again. @Ben, I hope this is helpful. Happy to do any additional testing if necessary.

When I upgraded to 4.0.4 my photo troubles ceased for quite awhile. But yesterday they returned and only about 70% of the email had photos. Last night only about 10% had photos. So whatever the issue is it remains.

The only times I've had emails send without attachments have been from one camera that I know sometimes loses connection that is setup with the ONVIF profile. I've been at the computer when I saw the camera lose connection, and an email was received at the same time. None of my 6 other cameras do the same thing (they almost never have a connection issue - so the one camera that is having problems is either camera hardware, or a bad ethernet run)
-
I've avoided restarting SS and the problem degraded further. The past 2 days none of the email have attachment from the 3 cameras in my system.

Based on the information provided by @roadfun, I've made some further improvements to the email sending mechanism, and there is a new beta version to test.
