To archive older videos to another location. And/Or be able to save continuous in a different location than motion. I recently had a raid fail. So this would be a nice failsafe and a way to store more video history.

    There is an "Upload" Feature that can save files to another location via FTP/sFTP
    can even have different types of capture go to different locations with this being setup (like pictures out to a cloud type service, video to a more local source)

    I use it to copy motion capture video & pictures to a hidden old computer (and scripts on that system keep it from getting full - clearing out old files or when it gets close to full it cleans up as well) That way if my main computer is stolen I don't lose the footage of it happening.
