Motion Capture Issues V4.0.2

Hey Ben, I have a few issues with motion capture on all three cameras attached to SS:

1.) The Pre-Capture setting of 10 seconds seems to be ignored. The video starts with the first instance of motion.

2.) Not all motion events are being recorded to video files. Just to test the configuration, I have the camera set to be "armed all the time" and while I'm walking around the house I am triggering events. I know this because of push notifications with Spyglass and emails with stills, but when I view the browser or capture destination there are no video files.

3.) Run-Away-Recording randomly one of the cameras will continue to record video from a motion event even after the motion event is over.

Thank you for all of your hard work developing this software!
Jim

  • Hi Jim,

    1. This isn't a known issue, are you absolutely sure that you have set the 10-second pre-capture for the right camera?

    2. The "armed all the time" schedule you mention: is this for Actions or Motion Capture, or both? Note that after setting this as the schedule, if you subsequently disarm a camera manually, this will override the schedule.

    3. This is an issue we are currently looking into and hope to have a fix soon.
  • Good news / other news update,

I couldn't get the pre-capture or motion event recording issues sorted, so I just went ahead and deleted all of the cameras and then reconfigured them. Presto, pre-capture and motion event recording issues have stopped. Even more importantly I have not had any run-away-recordings!! Coincidence?

But now I have a new issue, my cameras are not sending stills via email? ...btw I have checked and rechecked the email and motion capture settings, testing emails get sent no problem. Also, there are no emails in spam and this email account is only used to monitor the output from the cameras. Are there any known issues with this?

**Update.... So I still have issues with the emailing of stills, but I seemed to have narrowed it down to the schedule. If the app is started/restarted during the time motion capture is active, then stills get sent, but if the schedule makes the camera inactive and then back to active, no stills get sent. So at least my system has an issue with scheduling and stills.

So far, I am really liking the new update. You have made many great improvements. Keep up the great work!

Hi @jstraka, glad you like the new software!

Please can you upgrade to the latest version of SecuritySpy (currently 4.0.3) and let me know if any of the problems persist?

    Thanks,
