SS4 CPU VTDecoderXPCService
I noticed that cpu on the SS4 process is indeed reduced by nearly 50% on my setup. However, I see a new process VTDecoderXPCService running when SS4 runs. I don't recall seeing this service with SS3.X. VTDecoderXPCService is consuming about same cpu as SS4. I am running 5 Foscam cameras MPEG-4 HTTP on OS X 10.11.5 El Capitan 64-bit. No video capture or motion detection enabled. Is the VTDecoderXPCService expected normal behavior?

Yes, this is expected behaviour. Previously, SecuritySpy used QuickTime for video decompression; now is uses the more modern and efficient "Video Toolbox" API. Video Toolbox spawns these additional processes to do the actual work.

Overall CPU usage is definitely down in SS4. My iMac 4 core i7 had only 30% idle handling 11 cameras (with all of them visible on screen, 8FPS except one at 6FPS) under SS 3.04.11b4. Under SS 4.01, system now has 40% cpu idle with all cameras at 6FPS.
