Send SecuritySpy All Camera View Using AirParrot 2 with Apple TV

I recently upgraded my camera count to 16 and installed a lot of 1080P cameras with IR. I wanted a way to easily see the 'All Camera' window on my 1080P TVs. I already had Apple TVs connected. Yesterday I found a program called Air Parrot 2. You can use the program to send the output of any monitor or Application window to other devices such as iPads or Apple TVs. My main computer running SecuritySpy has 3 monitors. I keep use one screen dedicated to the SecuritySpy 'All Cameras' window. I stream the output of this window to my Apple TVs and iPad.

I am happy that I can see all my cameras on any of my TVs. I can also stream to an application on my one of my work office computers using a program called Reflector 2. I have that computer connected to my home network via VPN.

AirParrot 2 costs $12.99 and Reflector 2 costs $14.99.

I am very happy with SecuritySpy and have been using it for several years. It is great that IR 2MP camera can be bought now days for about $130. I am running the app on a quad core I7 4 Ghz iMac 5K. I use the FTP upload feature back up my captured videos to a well secured NAS in case my main computer is a victim of theft.

  • Great idea, I've been using Reflector to mirror from my ipad to my mac to record my grandsons Minecraft adventures :-) . Never thought of using it that way for security purposes.
