SSL between Camera and Security Spy

I'm testing the option to enable SSL between the camera and Security Spy. HTTPS is enabled on the camera itself and I'm able to access the camera's url via https. However, the video feed goes away when selecting the enable SSL option in Security Spy. Everything works fine when SSL is not selected in Security Spy. Not sure if I'm missing something here, but I get the same result using two different camera models. The cameras have self-signed certificates and I'm able to access the cameras with Safari. I've tried a few other things like lowering frame rate to 10 and adjusting http port to 443 in Security Spy, but enable SSL option does not seem to work for me. Also, I have Security Spy web server http/https enabled. Any suggestions?

    What camera makes/models are you using?

    443 is indeed the default port for HTTPS, but we have seen some cameras that also change their RTSP port when SSL is enabled. So you could try 443 as the RTSP port too, or look through the camera's settings and user manual to see if it mentions anything about what RTSP port to use when SSL is enabled.

    Thanks Ben, I'm testing with Dahua ipc-hfw3200s. Went through the camera help pages and tried 443 as RTSP port as well but this did not correct the issue. I notice that the camera has a self-signed cert (expired) but I have trusted and added that to keychain. I can access the camera directly through https on Safari and no cert warning / error is displayed and I'm able to get into the camera. This one has me stumped. I performed a Wireshark capture. Would you be able to look at this to see if you have any ideas?

    Well it sounds like you've done everything right. Wireshark captures won't be useful unfortunately because any SSL traffic between SecuritySpy and the camera would be encrypted. So that we can investigate further, please email us screenshots of all relevant settings screens (mainly the camera's settings pages related to SSL/certificates/ports etc.) as well as SecuritySpy's log file, which you will fine in the SecuritySpy folder within your Documents folder.
