Preferences/Deleting old files based on disk space
Monitoring four cameras I keep the two outside active so they automatically record movement. Two inside cameras are only active based on home automation/alarm states. Because of the far greater number of files created by the outdoor cameras and the disk space cleanup of old files to make space for new I often find no files available to view from the inside cameras. is it possible to have each camera's storage directory separately monitored so it's oldest file is deleted rather than on a global bases?

The cleanup by disk space will always remove the oldest files first, across the board. So it sounds like the best solution here is to use a larger drive as the capture destination (e.g. a 1-2 TB USB external drive) that is able to retain a longer history of captured footage.
The other option, if you want a protected amount of space for the indoor cameras, separate from the outdoor ones, is have them recorded to a different volume. For example, you could create a disk image for this purpose, or partition the disk into multiple volumes, or add an external drive that is just for one set of cameras and not the other. -
Thanks for the reply. I did just that and created four volumes one for each camera. How do I get the files to show up in the SS browser again?

If you aren't seeing the files in the Browser, try simply quitting and re-opening SecuritySpy. Does that fix it?

It didn't. That's the first thing I thought.

I figured out the problem. SS will not place files in the root of a drive, it requires a directory as even though I chose the root it created a directory "Security spy captured files" and then created another named the same as the camera and placed the files there.

You are correct, if set to the root directory, SecuritySpy will always create a "Captured files" folder within that. Glad to hear you worked it out.
