Camera Name & Number / Re-sorting
I have six cameras set up on my SS system. Recently I had a camera go down and have replaced it. In doing so I added the new camera to my system bringing the total to seven cameras. Once I had the settings the way I wanted them on the new camera I dumped the failing camera. When I open the Main Video Window (All Cameras) I can see all six camera feeds but with the latest camera in the lower right position on the screen. I would prefer it to be in the upper left (first) next to the gate camera (second).
My setup is for my home. Two outdoor and four indoor cameras (for our dogs). The two outdoor cover the front entry and the side gate. The newly added replacement camera covers the front entry. I would like to have it displayed first in the Main Video Window. Is there a way to change the order without having to delete and re-add each device to the system?
Using the pull down menus - Window / Device Map, the pop-up window displays the Device Name (IP address & port number) and the Camera Name and Number. There doesn't seem to be a way to re-order them or assign a number to the camera.
I tried setting up a Group to get the window order I prefer but the cameras seem to drop into what ever order they want. And there is no way to remove a camera from a group without once added. You have to create a new group.
Any ideas?
My setup is a Mac Mini (mid 2011) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB RAM with upgraded SSD. The two outdoor cameras are set up for continuous capture as well as motion sensor triggering. We get a lot of deliveries to our front door so I get notified via email upon arrival. And if anyone approaches the gate I get notified via email too.
Other than occasional camera failures, the system has been flawless. Kudos to your brilliant work. I thank you very much. I'd be up for beta testing if you would like to test on my setup.

To reorder cameras, click and drag the camera names up or down in the Camera Status window. The order you specify here will be reflected in all other UI components (main video window, group window, settings windows etc.)
Glad to hear you have had such success with SecuritySpy! -
Fantastic! I tried it before I made my inquiry but I must not have been clicking on it correctly. (It's always user error. LOL!) All set now. Many thanks.
