Time Lapse Browser Only?

When I bring up the browser window in multi file mode, it takes awhile to assemble all the little files (I have 185,000 across all my cameras for the last 10 days) into a timeline and I understand this. However, I have 5 of my 7 cameras set to continuous capture, so I was wondering if there was a way to just view all 5 TL videos without the browser having to assemble all the little files or scan through the directory. It would seem that for prior days where the recording has finished, showing 5 QuickTime movies in the same window should be quite smooth and fast, but it doesn't seem that way. For the current day, I wouldn't expect it take to that long either.

Is there another program to view the videos 5 up (yes, I know I can view them individually or show 5 windows in QuickTime player)?

I just switched from motion capture (which I've been doing for almost 3 years) to motion capture and continuous capture as I got a WD My Book Duo which seems to being quite well to record all the video.

Hi - as you describe, SecuritySpy will search for ALL files for a particular day, and will put them all together into one movie per camera for playback. Sorry but there is no way to change this behaviour at present, though we are currently re-writing the Browser feature and will take your feedback into account. As far as I know there is no easy way (i.e. without using an editing product like Final Cut Pro) to put the 5 TL movies together for synchronised playback.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm now more than ever interested in testing your next version especially to see the reworked Browser (even better if you take my feedback and do something with it!).

Since I know that QuickTime can play multiple movies at once, I've started writing a Mac App to do what I want; shouldn't be too hard, I just need to find the time to do it.

You might also consider looking at FFMPEG. I don't know (too lazy right now) if it will do multi-video tiling, but I'll bet somehow it can do what you want. The trick will be having all of the feeds synchronized.
