Amcrest Camera

Has anyone tested the Amcrest 1080p Pan/Tilt Wifi camera with SS? I am looking for a camera that is more stable than the equivalent Foscam. I have found the Foscam C1 cameras really stable but the pan/tilts are always going of line /freezing.

  • Do you have a model number so that we can check for you? Amcrest are quite new and we're currently communicating with the company and confirming compatibility. So far it seems that all Amcrest IP cameras and NVRs will work with SecuritySpy, with the possible exception of "Qcam" branded products (which we hope to make work in the near future).
  • I am interested in the IP2M-841B
  • Yes, we have had confirmation from other users that this one works with the ONVIF profile already built into SecuritySpy.
  • Hi Ben--I used the ONVIF profile with this camera and the PTZ controls are a bit wonky(i.e. spins out of control and stops at a particular location and then freezes) Will you be able to create a profile in the future that addresses this problem?

    thanks!
  • Hi @meyekle - the latest beta version of SecuritySpy has a built-in profile for Amcrest camera, so please try this and let us know if this works better for PTZ.
  • Hello Ben--I removed and used the Amcrest profile but I'm getting a blue screen with an "authentication error" message.
  • In that case the camera is rejecting the username/password that you have entered into SecuritySpy. Can you please double-check that these are correct?
  • The Amcrest IP2M-841B I have now works with the Amcrest profile in 3.9.4 - no special fiddling around required.
  • Mine as well. Is there a command I can put in to change the frame rate?
