SecuritySpy Client and Server

Okay, I've heard from a couple of friends of mine that use SecuritySpy that there is a way to have SecuritySpy installed on two computers on the network, one is the server, and on the second one you can connect to the server by adding the server as a camera so that you can use the SecuritySpy application to view the cameras instead of the web application. Is this something you can do? thank you.

    Yes this is something that you can do. The second (client) copy of the software can be used free of charge for the purposes of viewing only - simply leave all cameras in this client version in Passive mode and do not enter any license details.

    The setup is described in the Using SecuritySpy as a video server section of the user manual. Basically you have to enable the web server on the server copy, and add network devices to the client copy via the Video Device Settings window.

    I run a client copy SS v3.4.8 on an iMac on the same network, pointing to the licensed 16-camera server copy (same version) to display just two cameras. The videos on the client iMac have this big box saying DEMO TRIAL PERIOD EXPIRED. I thought this usage needs no license? Can I get rid of those boxes?

    Never mind. Problem solved. I set both to Passive on the camera status window on the client side and the DEMO box is gone.
