Can scheduled settings launch SecuitySpy app?

Newbie here, so forgive the dumb question. Say I left home and forgot to launch SecuritySpy, will my scheduled settings launch the app? Or will I have to use a cron scheduler like Cronnix?

if you're on a mac you simply add SS to your login items. Shedule the mac to start up automatically, make sure it also logs in automatically and then it will launch SS.

Just as Peter said - if you do this then SS will be always active, ready to record, and your Schedules in SecuritySpy will determine when this recording will take place. For SecuritySpy to be able to record, it must be open with the Mac awake. The Schedules in SecuritySpy won't automatically launch the software if it's not launched.

Thanks, I've already added SS to launch at login on my mac mini.

As I use my mac for other tasks, I find the FaceTime camera's green light distracting on my Apple Thunderbolt Display while SS is in passive mode. So I end up closing SS just to turn off the camera's green light. I'd love to see an option to turn this light off while SS is in passive mode, and turn on only when in active mode.

Yesterday, I forgot to launch SS again when I left home for work. I had to login remotely to my mac just to launch SS. Hence my original post question.

Thanks Ben, looks like I'll have to use Cronnix to launch SS just before my scheduled active mode starts - no biggie as this is still an awesome app

If you want it to run more like a service where it automatically starts up again even if it crashes, one of the best options is to create a Launch Agent for it
(There are many guides to create these, pretty easy text file with XML defining where the application is, then the system watches and if it quits for any reason, it starts right up again, the only thing it doesn't catch is an app freeze)
