TOP-201 mini 720p IP camera

Need some help please. I have recently bought the full licence for my Mac mini and all working okay up until I tried to install the TOP-201 cameras my wife purchased me from Amazon. I simply cannot get them to connect so tested them on my colleagues Blue Iris setup which to my surprise works! Not sure what I am doing wrong here, but first question is are they supported by SecuritySpy? Help would be appreciated, many thanks

This camera isn't officially supported (see our list of supported IP cameras), however there is no reason why it shouldn't work with the right settings.

Firstly, have you got the camera set up on your network, and do you know its IP address? You can use our Network Device Finder to locate it on your network.

Then, try this configuration:

- In the Video Device Settings window, create a new network device.
- Set the device type to "Manual configuration”.
- Enter the camera's IP address but leave the Port boxes empty.
- Enter the camera’s username and password
- Select "RTSP TCP” from the Format menu.
- Enter the following as the Request:

user=XXX&password=XXX&channel=1&stream=0.sdp

Substitute the actual username instead of the XXX placeholders.

Does this work? If not, try this string instead:

user=XXX_password=XXX_channel=1_stream=0.sdp

(it's the same but with underscore characters instead of ampersand characters)
