El Capitan / Err 705,-43 / camera set to passive and file folder deleted
I have successfully been running 2 Foscam FI8905W cameras on my mac for a number of years.
Recently I have started getting an occasional error msg 705,-43 with the result that 1 of my 2 cameras goes inactive.
The folder for Network Camera 1 also disappears (however camera 2 is OK).
I am running SecSpy 3.4.8 and have been on OSX 10.11 El Capitan for a few weeks.
I have tried rebooting, restarting SecSpy and creating the folder manually, with mixed results.
The full message is :
“there was an error while running the camera “Network Camera 1” in active mode - it has been set to passive mode (Error Code: 705, -43 File not found”
The folder for Network Camera 1 has also been deleted. Recreating it manually in the original folder is not always successful.
Note the camera cannot then be reset to active mode without SecSpy restart.
The 705 error message does not appear in the Error List, but -43 is listed as a file problem.
... and to make it worse, it is not a solid fault, but happens every two or three days.
I delete all recorded files at least twice a day, so no problems with space.
I have an iMac21.5", 2.5GHz Intel Core i5 with 8 GB.

Hi - sorry to hear about the problem. SecuritySpy should never itself delete the "Network camera 1" folder, so this is strange. Are you manually deleting this yourself at any time?
When you say you delete all recorded files twice a day, are you doing this manually? It's much better to let SecuritySpy do this for you - simply configure the auto-remove options in the Preferences window to automatically delete files after 1 day. Please try using this features for a while (instead of manually deleting any files/folders) to see if this resolves the problem. -
Problem persists, but has switched to other camera after I had created a new folder at a higher level for the original problem camera, and have now done same for the 2nd camera. Auto file created by SecSpy in Documents was problem in both cases. Now files forced to high level folder on desktop. I delete files regularly (2 or 3 hours) as I need high sensitivity which creates many spurious recordings. I delete them in the SecSpy "Browser" folder, thus no chance of me deleting folder.
