Viewing video files in SecSpy's multi-file mode

Good morning,

I have been trying out SecSpy's multi-file viewing mode. As I read the docs, I understood it will allow you to view multiple video files side-by-side, synchronized by time. That is, if one file was displaying footage from 12:34:56, so would the other. I can see the value of this where you have multiple cameras covering the same are.

However, it appears that this is incorrect. While I have not gotten hard numbers yet, I can see that the cameras are not synced - a large colourful vehicle appears on screen in one camera, but does not show up in the second, crossed (reverse view), camera for some time.

Am I mis-reading the HowTo, using the feature incorrectly, or something else? I tried this c v/3.4.7 and v/3.4.8 with the same results.

Thanks for any help or hints

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

You are using the feature correctly - the cameras should indeed be synchronised together upon playback. Are you seeing a constant delay between one camera and another, or is the problem sporadic, with the streams sometimes being in sync and sometimes not? Roughly how long is the time discrepancy?
