Why does my iMac built in cam switch to passive mode regularly?

I have the iMac built in cam as one of my security spy cams - I find that after a day or so (not sure exactly how long but whenever I return to check on it) it has gone into passive mode?

    Hi - if you want the camera active all the time, firstly check that it's not on a schedule: in the Setup section of the Camera Settings window, make sure that the schedule option is not checked.

    Then, when you set the camera to Active mode manually (command-R, or via the Camera Status window, or by right-clicking on the camera and selecting the option from the menu), the camera should stay in Active mode thereafter.

    In this condition, it would only ever switch back to Passive mode if there is some error that is preventing it running in Active mode, so check the Log file for errors. You'll find the Log file in the SecuritySpy folder within your Documents folder.
