Some cameras going to passive mode when SS is in background

I have a system with 13 Dahua cameras running active through a netgear PoE switch. When SS is running in the background some of the cameras seem to switch to passive mode. When I pull SS some of the cameras are blue and say passive and attempt to reconnect and automatically switch back to active mode. Any idea on what is going on here?

    Hi David,

    When you say "in the background", what exactly do you mean? Are you switching to a different user account, or simply hiding SecuritySpy and working on another app.

    Are you using the latest version of SecuritySpy?

    Does this happen when SecuritySpy is not in the background?

    Ben,
    I use 'spaces' in OS X to switch between different workspaces with different apps. I leave SS open and simply switch over to another space to do a different task. When I switch back to the space that the SS window is open in some of the cameras have switched to passive mode and have to try to reconnect. Yes, I have the latest version. No, it does not seem to happen when I'm in that space and the window is open in the foreground.

    Any further thoughts on this? I have the same set up on a different computer at my house with only 4 cameras and I have never had the same issue there.

    Hi David,

    I can't seem to reproduce your problem here. Can you please tell me what OS X system version is installed on each of the two Macs you have tested this on?

    Another thing to try: right-click on SecuritySpy in the Dock, and from the Options submenu select "All desktops". Does this resolve the problem?

    Ben, thanks for the idea. I will let you know if the 'all desktops' trick works. I'll also confirm details on OS versions I'm using. Thanks!

    Ben, I made two changes and the problem has been corrected. I was incorrect about the version I had installed so I updated to the latest version and I set the icon in the dock to "none" for desktop assignments (so as to avoid the browser window shifting to every desktop) Thanks again.
