  • Hi BSP,

Yes, that's a perfectly capable system for up to 8 or so cameras in a typical configuration. Please see our System Requirements Calculator as this will give you further information about what kinds of system configurations you can use with your Mac.
  • Ben -
I have a mac mini 2GHz quad core i7 16GB of RAM writing to an external thunderbolt Pegasus array. I have 8 cameras (Dahua IPC-HFW2100 1.3Mp 720P) Security Spy routinely consumes 100-180% CPU. The only other application running on the server is Indigo with a few plugins. The system, Security Spy in particular, will periodically freeze up and I'll get a notification that Security Spy has quit unexpectedly. There are also times when it doesn't give me a message that it quit but... it quit as the captured video for all cameras stopped on a given day at roughly the same time.
    Any thoughts?
  • Hi @jabeard3 - there could be a number of causes of the unexpected quit message, but high CPU usage is not one of them. So that we can investigate this further, please can you locate and email to us the crash log files for SecuritySpy. To find them, hold the alt (option) key, click on the Go menu in the Finder, and select the Library option from the menu. Within this Library folder, navigate into Logs and then Diagnostic Reports - you will find the log files there.
