Error Code 738,-5000

I recently switched SS to a new machine, and did the "transfer settings" as described on the site. Everything went generally smoothly for the first few hours and now a few cameras have switched from active to passive and are giving me this error code ("....the OS is not allowing disk access. Please repair permissions on the disk or change the capture destination.")

What's odd is that, aside from these 3 cameras (for now), all of the other cameras are recording to that same disk just fine.

What can I do?

  • I've been getting this error as well and the same error codes since I upgraded to 3.4.7. In my case it seems to be connected to the capture destination drive or folder being full or, possibly even permissions issues on the capture destination. The older version would simply stop recording if the drive had filled up but this version is actually performing a service in warning you why it's stopped recording. Just my 2 cents worth.
  • This is a permissions error: the OS is refusing access to certain locations on the disk to SecuritySpy. Please Quit SecuritySpy and open Disk Utility (you'll find it in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder), go through all volumes listed on the left and click the "Repair Disk Permissions" option for each one.

    Does this fix the problem?
