Text Overlay not showing up in recorded movies

Hi Ben,

I see the overlay in the Live Video, but not on the motion-triggered Captured Files. I even see it on the thumbnail for the movie when viewed in the Web Server Browser! But when I watch the movies, there is no time stamp.

I prefer to have "one file per day" created, but without a time stamp it makes the captured footage not too useful.

I have "Text Overlay" checked.
I have "Don't recompress movies" unchecked.

Hi Jeff,

How are you viewing the captured movie files? If the text overlay is in the preview thumbnail, then it should definitely be in the movie file, because the thumbnail is generated directly from its corresponding movie file.

Perhaps the top of the video image (and therefore the time stamp) is being cut off. If you download the file (instead of viewing it in the browser) and open it in QuickTime Player instead, do you see the thumbnail?

If the top of the movie is being cut off in the web browser, try resizing your browser window so that it wider and shorter. The size that the movie is played back is set based on the width of the browser window; this provides a nice full-window viewing experience, but may cause the top and bottom to be cut off if the window is too tall and narrow.
