VMWare success
Just FYI: I'm running SecuritySpy inside a VMWare 5.5 image and it's doing quite well. Four cameras (2x Axis @30fps 720, 2xVivotec @20fps 720, 1xN2 @16fps - all full speed, full resolution) with motion detection, time lapse. No problems at all OSX-10.10 5gb allocated, 2x2ghz cores assigned to the VM. This is on a 2015 7,1 Mac Mini 8G. I also have Observium (Linux) running in another instance with 1g/1 core. The whole machine is running at around 20% capacity, so plenty of room for more cameras or more VMs, though memory is getting tight. I haven't experimented with lowering the memory pool on the OSX instance. This is kind of a strange solution, but I didn't have budget at this client to run separate hardware for the camera server, and I needed a few Linux images for various other monitoring. Doesn't seem to be a problem.

Sounds pretty cool! I would recommend getting up to ESXi 6.0 as it has much better support for the Mac Minis. Glad to know this works, I have a colleague trying to toy with this same setup.
