Time Lapse on Y-Cam Bullet HD1080

Hi Ben
I have four Axis M1031-W cameras and have just added a Y-Cam Bullet HD1080 for outside the house.
All run through SecuritySpy and also into Indigo Domotics - all work great, however I am having a problem in setting up a time lapse on the Y Cam for a building project (taking a shot every hour). What is strange is, if I configure the same settings on the Axis cameras, all works at it should, however when I playback on the Y-Cam with the same settings it looks to be almost recording continuous or at random intervals.

Have you come across this issue at all ?

Settings:
'Capture continuous/timelapse movie' is ticked
'Capture frequency' = 3600 seconds between frames
'Create new movie' = Daily selected
'No recompression of data from this device' = blank (not ticked)

All cameras are running latest firmware and SS is latest version

Any help, gratefully received. Thanks

  • Hi - this will be down to the "No recompression" setting in the Video Device Settings window for this device.

If SecuritySpy is receiving temporally-compressed video from the camera (MPEG-4 or H.264), and SecuritySpy is set to capture the incoming video without recompressing it, then it is not possible to change the frame rate of the incoming stream, and therefore the video will be captured at the full frame rate.

So, turning off this "no recompression" option should resolve your issue.

    Hope this helps.
  • Hi Ben - thanks for the prompt response.
The 'No recompression of data from this device' is blank (not ticked) already.
Do you mean I should select it ? and why would it need to be different for the Y-Cam compared to the Axis cameras - do they handle in different way ?
  • Hi - sorry I missed that you mentioned this in your initial post.

I meant that this option should be off for the Y-cam.

I think the best thing would be for us to have a look over your settings. Please open SecuritySpy (or bring it to the front) and press the space bar three times in a row. A file called "SecuritySpy Debug Info" will appear on your desktop - please email it to us, mentioning this forum thread.

This will allow us to look over all your settings in detail so see what could be going wrong.

    Thanks,
