Bandwidth usage in Viewcam

When the main window (or a group window) is closed, is it possible to disable the unnecessary streams ?

Or maybe have an option to stop the stream when a cam is not displayed ?

    Sorry, not at the moment. The best way to achieve this is to simply quit ViewCam when you are not using it. The advantage of keeping the streaming going all the time is so that the video is instantly available when you need it, otherwise there may be a significant delay before the connections are reestablished. So I'm not sure if we are going to change this behaviour in the future.

    I would love to see the “Suspend video decoding when not needed” feature from SecuritySpy come to Viewcam. We have more cameras available to view than can be decoded at full resolution on an M4 Mac Mini, but most of them rarely need to be viewed, and we can wait a few seconds for the connections to reestablish when switching group windows. Having the video decoding be suspended would let us view the current selection of cameras at full quality instead of running everything from a lower-quality substream just in case we want to switch group windows.
