Streaming SecuritySpy Feeds to a TV via Firestick – Need Suggestions
I've been exploring the best way to view my security camera feeds on a Firestick-connected TV. So far, I’ve considered a couple of options:
- Streaming from my Mac: I thought about creating an RTSP stream from my Mac (possibly using OBS Studio in combination with another app), and then using an app like VLC on the Firestick to play that stream.
- Using an HDMI output: My Mac mini runs SecuritySpy, and I could use its HDMI output with an HDMI extender to display the feed directly on a TV.
Has anyone found a reliable or simple method to view security camera feeds on a TV—especially using a Firestick? I’d appreciate any suggestions or experiences with similar setups.

@theanswer I've two Fire TVs and a number of Fire HD tablets. My go-to app for the past 8 years or so has been "tinyCam PRO - Swiss knife to monitor IP cam".
You can configure SecuritySpy as a server within the app.
There used to be a free non "pro" version of the app, I don't know if that's still the case, but it's VERY cheap regardless.
