One Camera causes constant high memory pressure

One camera on my system is causing constant high memory pressure.

As soon as I deactivate this camera, the problem is solved (see screenshot)

I already tried to reduce the frame rate and set Pre-Capture to 0.

Camera Type HikVision DS-2CD1023G0E-I

Security Spy 6.6

Mac OS 10.13.6

8GB Memory

On my other system using SecuritySpy 5.4.1 I am operating two of cameras of the same type without any problems.

Both use the standard settings without any change.

Any idea?

  • It's difficult to diagnose these kinds of issues without further information and troubleshooting. Generally it will be the overall load of all the cameras combined pushing the machine beyond its limits, rather than one particular camera causing unusual amounts of resource usage itself. So that we can help you with this issue, please email us, and include the screenshot you referred to, along with a debug file (SecuritySpy menu > Debug > Create Debug File On Desktop) and we will assist you with this directly.

    Hi Ben,

Meanwhile I am a but further in exploring the issue. It‘s not the HikVision camera. I switched it off and after a while I have the same error message again.

I updated to the new version of SecuritySpy when I installed the new camera. Can I go back to the previous version? Everything worked Fine for years and in the end I don‘t need the features of the new one.

  • Now I have a new error message:

Generated by the SecuritySpy system named "Kameras_XXX" at XXXXX

Error running neural network. Classifier failed. 6.6,2050,-6662

  • Error -6662 is also a memory error, so there does appear to be a problem with lack of RAM on this machine. It's unlikely to be down to any specific camera; we will need to look in more depth to see what could be happening.
