How to log successful logins to the web server?

edited October 2016 in SecuritySpy
Hello,
I am very happy with SecuritySpy, but I have one question -- I would like to see a log of all successful connections (logins) to the web server, but I don't think they are showing up in the log file. I have the preference checked that says "log access of all connections" but that doesn't seem to cover logins? (I have a password, but do not yet use a TLS certificate)
Thanks!

  • Hi David,

Glad to hear you're happy with the software!

If you have turned on the option "Write log file of all connections" in the Preferences -> Web section, then SecuritySpy will add an entry to the web log for every single successful connection, whether a login was required or not.

To access this log, select "Open Web Log" from the File menu in SecuritySpy (this menu item is relatively new, so if you don't see it, upgrade to the latest version of SecuritySpy).

If you are using TextEdit to view the file, not that it won't update if new connections have been made since you opened the file. Simply close and re-open the file to see the new connections.
