Webview Screensaver
using SS 5511
I have always used the SS screensaver, but this now doesn't work since my server isn't running on a very old OS. I searched and found it promising that wvss is an option, or so I thought.
Following the tutorial on setting this up, it seems to be missing some vital information. I figured out how to add the username:password after creating the multiplex string. This is added to the server name followed by a "/". I don't know how to add the cameras.
Maybe we can take it step by step.

I think you are referring to our blog post Create a Screen Saver With Your SecuritySpy Cameras. Sorry but this will not work in the older v5 software, as it doesn't have the required web features. You will need to upgrade to v6 in order for this to work. V6 has the same system requirements as v5 so you won't have to upgrade your Mac, and as an existing v5 user, you get a 25% discount off the full price of the new software.

Thanks, Ben.
A couple more stupid questions.
After I install V.6, when I use terminal to install WVSS, will it be there? It was not when I tried it in terminal the last time. Also, I have multiple systems I want to use for this screensaver, can I install it on them as well? They also could not access Webview SS through the terminal command.

After running a few tests here, I've realised that that Terminal command doesn't always work. So, we have now updated the instructions on our blog post with a more reliable way to install the WebViewScreenSaver, which involves manually downloading it from the releases page. Check out the updated blog post via the link above. Please try this new method, and let me know if the install procedure is now reliable and easy to follow.

Thank you. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
I need to download V.6 and install, then I will install the screensaver on a couple of desktop systems, and a HT system to view on my TV.

I did get the v.4 download, and it is stable.
My screensaver is the securityspy login page. I'm not sure how to tweak the URL's from there.

It's just not logging in. All I have is the logon page.

If you're seeing the login screen this means that your "auth" parameter is incorrect. Follow the instructions via our blog post to create this from the username/password of one of your web accounts. If you need assistance, feel free to email us and supply all the details (address, camera numbers, username, password) and we'd be happy to create a working URL for you.

I will email you. I thought I'd exhausted everything, but still feel progress was made at least seeing the evidence of the server.
