Mac Notifications

I've been experimenting a lot with notifications and there are so many great options with the red box, sounds, etc. Is there a way to include a thumbnail of the motion with the Mac notification like in the iOS notification?
Thanks, Marty

I really do like having a large picture pop up over the camera software and a red box. It really gets one's attention. I like having the red box for x number of seconds. Is there a way to get the large pop up window to go away after x number of seconds? Thanks much. Even after so many years, it seems I'm learning so many new ways to use SecuritySpy.
We mainly are using one camera to watch for a outdoor feral cat that only comes in for feeding periodically. We try not to miss him, so I'm setting that camera to watch for animals only and to flash a red box and bring the camera front and center. It's easy enough to close the window manually but after a minute or so would be a nice addition, but certainly not necessary.
Thanks much,
Marty

Looks like if not native to SecuritySpy, I can keep the focus on the working windows via an Apple Script (SecuritySpy is on a working system) that I saw in the forums and then use an Apple Script to dismiss it after a specified amount of time.

Hi Marty, there is an option in SecuritySpy under Settings > Display to automatically close selected windows after a specified amount of time. Currently the options aren't fine enough to select between the All Cameras window and the individual camera preview windows, but perhaps if we allow this distinction with this option (i.e. the ability to choose exactly which video windows to auto-close) it would work for you - what do you think?

That would work great Ben. I appreciate you even considering this as an option. What I'm doing now is just to have the red line around the camera so focus is not pulled to SecuritySpy when there is action. SecuritySpy is on a working computer and I was trying to prevent losing focus on the main monitor.
Wanted to add that I had mentioned in another post that we were using AI to recognize animals only to try and see a feral cat who comes up for feeding. It has helped many times to feed him. I programmed the run shell command to say, "Ruby there is a kitty on the deck" with Ruby being my wife. It really gets her attention and the cat gets fed. The AI works amazingly well. I actually think I like this set up more than the widow opening. If her computer is locked and the monitors off she still hears the notification.

Hi Marty, thanks for the feedback and it's great to hear you’re experiences with the software the AI detection - great to hear this is working so well for you. And I'll see if we can implement finer auto-close options in the future, I think this will useful for added flexibility.

Thanks Ben. That addition will certainly add flexibility and I look forward to testing it and I'm sure I'll use it. I really appreciate all the improvements along the way. It seems I find new and improved ways to use SecuritySpy all the time.
