Anyone using EmpireTech cameras?
Curious if anyone here uses Andy's cams and how the experience was getting them set up.

I use some and they work fine except I could never get two way audio working with the models with speakers on them.

Yes, I have purchased and used about three dozen cameras from Andy (EmpireTech) over the years. They make up about 95% of my cameras. They are rebranded Dahuas of prime quality. They can be firmware upgraded without losing English language capability, unlike domestic China market Dahuas that have been hacked to be in English. They also have the full quality components for international market rather than the sometimes downgraded components used to hit price points in the domestic China market.
Andy provides good customer support and firmware updates after they are vetted. Pricing is often better than from other, less known vendors.
My cameras from EmpireTech range from turrets, bullets, to multiple PTZ's. I would concentrate on those with sensors larger or equal to 1/1.8" in size and 4 MP for best nigh time performance. (S3 revision is current best in those. His Color 4KT 8 MP cameras with 1/1.2" sensors are superb low light, full color cameras. Setup is easy in SecuritySpy. Just set up as Dahua.
The cameras themselves also set up same as Dahuas. They even ship with IP set to the default Dahua IP address 192.168.1.108 You simply log in with a browser to do setup. I do all the settings manually and NEVER let the cameras have access to the internet. Cameras stay locked within their own isolated network here.
Look at my Youtube channel to get some idea what the EmpireTech / AKA Loryta cameras can do https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDyGsgboscQlTrPb5g7S6Kw
Many of the animal captures on my channel are only possible due to SecuritySpy's AI animal detection. Otherwise, it would be much harder to sort through over 3TB data being recorded each day.
