Solved: Scrolling left / right with a non-Apple mouse / no trackpad

I've an ancient Microsoft Intellimouse which will have to be buried with me. 😀 I noticed the other day that there is a digital zoom in / out (right click on a camera window, followed by Zoom In / Zoom Out) built into the Mac desktop version of SecuritySpy.

The manual helpfully describes a method of doing this via mouse wheel:

SecuritySpy offers digital Pan/Tilt/Zoom control for any camera in any video window: hold the Command key (⌘) on your keyboard and scroll up or down on your mouse or trackpad (on a trackpad, use the two-finger gesture to scroll). Once zoomed in, release the Command key and scroll in any direction to pan around the image.

The emboldened text applies to a trackpad.

I was going to come here and ask how you pan left or right without a trackpad on something like an Intellimouse.

The solution is to hold the shift key and use the mouse wheel.

In summary:

⌘ + mouse wheel = zoom in / out

Mouse wheel alone = up / down

Shift + mouse wheel = left / right
