AI motion detect
I have a tree at the front of the house that moves in the wind. Naturally I masked it off in the triggers page. Then at certain times of the day the branches cast a shadow on the ground, If you go down that road of masking everything you end up with too much masking. Anyway I decided to give the AI motion detect a go. It seems to work very well.
Anyway this is the question, on the web interface if you go to "captured files" then "front camera" then under file "Type" I notice the Motion capture, Human, Vehicle, Animal all give the same file when you play them. Are the Human, Vehicle, Animal options meant to generate files of just Human, Vehicles, Animals ?
I screen shared into my MacMini M1 and used the security spy browser, I can see the meta data and it does filter by human, vehicle and animal. On that topic, Is it possible to get a 2nd copy of security spy on my laptop to use the browser function. I have a vague recollection of seeing a post on this but can't find it in the search.
Thanks James

Hi James,
If you filter by "Motion Capture Movies", you get all movies that were triggered by motion, no matter what they contain. But if you ask for just "Human Motion Capture Movies", you should get only those that contain humans. If this doesn't seem to be working for you, are you able to give us temporary access to your system so that we can check this and run some tests? We would just need access to this one camera. If so, please email us with the login details.
You can indeed run a second copy of SecuritySpy on another Mac at no cost (see SecuritySpy as Remote Viewing Software), however, this allows you to view live video only from your primary SecuritySpy Mac - it does not provide access to recordings. For this you will need to use the web interface.
Hi Ben
It seems I too are chasing "2D outlines " of a human. I trigger off of Human at a very high 85% and try to push out motion 3-4 seconds to try and rid the wind moving trees and shadows that cast infinitely different outlines (And those of humans when I collect the files to verify). Masks work for some areas but a back yard that masks all possibilities ends up no motion triggers at all. Seems that the AI is lacking (understandably) that what god gives humans - construction of depth, texture, and scale. I wonder if there could be some kind of AI armageddon filter for having a just reasonable small area vs large area motion ratio ??. I would give up the human on windy days just to keep down the large file size collected. I am probably asking too much of looking at a perimeter of a building that resides in a forest.

Dale - SecuritySpy's human detector is very accurate (around 98%) but that's still 1 in 50 that will get past the AI, so if you have a situation where there is lots of motion all the time, you will inevitably get some false-positives. So that we can help you here, could you please email us and include an example false-positive movie file that was captured recently, along with a screenshot that shows the mask, and a debug file (SecuritySpy menu > Debug > Create Debug File On Desktop). We'll then look over everything and let you know what we recommend to improve the detection accuracy.
