Error from network device.
  • I've just installed release 5.3.1 (I know, it was released in December) and my cameras have stopped working. They're now all reporting "5.3.1,70280,500 Error from network device", but were working fine before I updated.
  • I'm using Hikvision cameras, previously configured for HTTP JPEG, I had to switch to RTSP to get them to work again.
  • There appears to be an error in the HTTP JPEG request that SecuritySpy issues to the camera via the Hikvision profile in v5.3.1. Sorry about that, we'll get it fixed in the next update. However, RTSP is almost always the better option as it gives you access to the camera's H.264/H.265 stream, which is much more efficient than JPEG.
