Hi,

is it possible with Swift Capture to record videos in 576i (interlaced) from an HDMI USB Capture device? It's the "Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2" device which by itself is able to grab 576i, for example on Windows with the Software "Virtual Dub". So I'm looking for a macOS alternative.

The goal is to capture some VHS video cassettes with lossless compression and by keeping the original image format which is PAL 576i (720x576 interlaced). Thanks a lot!

I am using an escape 326XC capture interface and it does a great job with 1080 and 4K SDR content. The 326 is advertised as supporting 4K HDR, but all my attempts to capture 4K HDR content have left a SDR captured file.

I have tried saving with 'Video encoding for movies' set to H.264 high quality, H.265 high quality, and ProRes 422 HQ but the saved file is always SDR. Talking to the ezcap support staff, they say the capture software must record using "P010" and colour space 'Rec. 2100 PQ'.

Does Swift Capture allow P010 to be selected somehow?

Thanks,

Graham

Through a combination of cables and adapters to go from mini-DV to Thunderbolt/USB-C, I've connected it to a Thunderbolt port on my M1 MacStudio running MacOS 13.0.1. The camera is recognized in the System Report and in iMovie and Quicktime Player but not SwiftCapture 1.3.3. This combination previously worked on a 2015 MacBook Pro running MacOS 12.2.1. Wondering if there is an explanation and if it is possible that this could be addressed in a SwiftCapture update.

With a M1 Pro based MacBook Pro I am having audio / video synchronization problems with my ezcap 321 USB attached capture device. On a short record of 5-6 minutes the audio and video sync is off just enough to notice it. The synchronization gets worse when capturing longer sources, such as a full 60 minutes when it's multiple seconds out of sync.

At this point it's unclear how to select a good millisecond value for the "Audio delay" settings, and my attempts at guessing have been totally unsuccessful. Is there a better way to determine what the "correct" value is?

I did try OBS 28.1.2 and it records 60+ minute files with correct audio/video synchronization, so I don't think this is some type of hardware problem with the ezcap device. Any ideas how to get the correct Audio Delay setting?

I've recently acquired a Logitech Brio 4K webcam for creating product demos. As many have commented online, the bundled software supplied by Logitech is minimalist, to say the least, and only allows simple screen viewing and changing of camera settings. No recording is possible. This is a bit odd because I bought a webcam from Logitech maybe a decade ago that came with software that had this simple functionality. But in any case, Logitech recommends Swiftcapture on their website, so I'm giving the trial version a go.

I have two issues:

1) Video lag on the Swiftcapture display panel is just over 2 seconds, which is much too high to be able to record a demo. Neither the Logitech software or Skype has this issue.
2) I need to be able to mirror the video, otherwise, it's just too confusing trying to monitor what I'm doing on-screen.

Hardware-wise I'm using a Mac Pro (Late 2013) trash can, 12GB RAM, AMD FirePro D300 2 GB video cards.

Thanks in advance for any help.

SwiftCapture is a remarkably good replacement for the bundled software which came with my Terratec G1 USB video capture device (and probably a lot of similar older Quicktime 7 based devices).

As analog video often contain "junk" on the edges, it would be great if SwiftCapture in addition to the great gamma, saturation and sharpness controls would have a cropping tool with sliders for cropping off the sides, either proportionally, or individually (with resulting slight distortion).

I don't know if this is a trivial undertaking, as it would involve scaling the result to the desired output resolution.

BTW - does SwiftCapture work both with older Quicktime-based drivers and newer AV Foundation drivers? I've noticed that some newer capture apps I evaluated failed to find my Terratec amongst available input sources (for instance, I can record Terratec-video with the Quicktime 7 player, but not with the QuickTime X player).

Or am I misinformed - is there a difference?

Regards
Rabbe Sandelin
