General Problems

SecuritySpy can't find one of my local devices
For any video input device (except network devices), driver software is required in order to use it with with SecuritySpy and most other video software. Please make sure you have installed the latest version of the driver software for your device, and that you have the device connected and switched on (if applicable).
Make sure that you don't have any other video software open, as this may be preventing SecuritySpy from seeing the device.
Mac OS X comes with built-in driver software for DV devices, FireWire IIDC cameras (such as the FireWire Apple iSight), and certain USB2 webcams (such as the built-in Apple iSight in iMacs and MacBooks).

The Java applet for remote viewing doesn't seem to work in Safari on Mac OS X 10.6

This is due to the fact that SecuritySpy's Java applet uses QuickTime for Java, which unfortunately apple has not yet updated for 64-bit compatibility. To resolve this problem it is necessary to set Safari to 32-bit mode, do to this, quit Safari, locate the Safari application in the Applications folder, select it, select Get Info from the File menu, and enable the "Open in 32-bit mode" option:

Alternatively, you can use the FireFox browser, which is a 32-bit application and therefore doesn't have this problem with QuickTime for Java.

I am using an AlchemyTV card and after a short time the video turns completely green
This is caused by the AlchemyTV driver software going into demo mode. You need to enter your AlchemyTV serial code into the "AlchemyTV" application (this is separate to the "AlchemyTV DVR" application that you may also have).
