Note in Yosemite Kernel Log file...
  • I noted the following message in my Console window (I am hunting a different issue...)

    11/1/14 9:05:42.000 PM kernel[0]: process SecuritySpy[228] caught causing excessive wakeups. Observed wakeups rate (per sec): 212; Maximum permitted wakeups rate (per sec): 150; Observation period: 300 seconds; Task lifetime number of wakeups: 45011
  • This means that SecuritySpy is doing a lot of work, and therefore waking up the CPU more than normal. It is simply warning you that one application is using a disproportionate amount of CPU time. Which is expected for any app that processes video! Nothing to worry about.
