Need help configuring iBaby Wireless Camera on SecuritySpy trial software.

edited May 2013 in Cameras
Hello everyone! I'm trying out SecuritySpy & Vitamin D on my Mac Mini 2.3ghz dual core 2012 model. I was able to configure the iBaby cam on Vitamin D, but had no luck on SecuritySpy. In Vitamin D I just picked "other IP Cam", then it just gave me "http" parameters to fill in like ip address on network, port# & login/password & video came on no problem. I think my biggest problem is that the iBaby cam does not appear in SecuritySpy's dropdown list. Right now, I am picking "manual configuration", putting in "ip address", then port 12000 (should I change this?), "username" & "password" then picking "SSL" encryption & "http video only". Till now, no video :(

Any advice on what I am doing wrong or what to try would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance to those who reply!

  • In the Video Device Settings window in SecuritySpy, try this:

    - Set the device type to "Manual".

    - Enter the camera's IP address but leave the Port field empty.

    - Enter any username/password for the camera.

    - Select "HTTP" from the Format menu.

    - Enter "video.cgi" (without quotes) as the Request

    Does this work?
  • I forgot to mention that you must not enable SSL in SecuritySpy unless this is specifically set up in the camera. By default it won't be, so please make sure this option is off.
